Dear children,
The School Council has decided that on the Thursday of Fitness Week we will be organising a fun run called 'The Great Stead Lane Run'. You will have the chance to be sponsored and this money will be spent onP.E. equipment. You can wear whatever you like, fancy dress or P.E. kit! We can't wait and think it will be so much fun!

SCHOOL COUNCILLORS
Children have this week chosen school councillors from their class. Our councillors will attend meetings and help make decisions on lots of aspects of school life. The children chosen for this year are:
Year 1 - Josh Eastway & Abbie Malcolm
Year 2 - Jailyn Adams & Lauren Harris
Year 3 - Daniel Davison & Faye Reid
Year 4 - Matthew Jacobson & Melissa Agnew
Next week we will be choosing our School Councillors. Two children are chosen from each class (Years 1 – 4). If your child would like the opportunity to be one of our councillors they will have to tell their class teacher and then think of some reasons as to why they’d be good at the job. They will be asked to tell the rest of their class why they’d like to be on our School Council and then everyone in the class will have a chance to vote. The names of the two children chosen by each class will be announced in assembly next Friday.
At Stead Lane First School we have a very active school council. Each class has two representatives who have been nominated and elected by their class mates. They meet once a fortnight to discuss issues raised by the children. To help gather ideas, each class has its own suggestion box where children are encouraged to contribute. The council has a secretary and chair person, an agenda is set for each meeting and minutes are recorded. These are displayed in school.
