Our bag2school scheme back in September earned us £54.00 for school funds. Thank you to everyone who helped.
For parents who attend our ‘Stepping Stones Reading Group’, our last session will be held on Tuesday 2nd December at 2.15pm. Please return all resources in the plastic wallet on or before Monday 1st. Thank you.
Our annual Christmas lunch will be held on Wednesday 17th December for main school children, please complete and return the attached form so Mrs Armstrong knows how many children to cater for.
We are holding our annual Christmas Fair and Disco on Friday 5th December from 5.00 – 7.00pm. Tickets will cost £1.50 per child (children must be accompanied by an adult at this event, adult goes free) and will be on sale at the school office from Wednesday 26th November.
As part of our Fair, we will have a raffle, tombola, toy sale and cake stall so if you could donate any items for these stalls, they will be greatly appreciated.
There are still tickets remaining for our Christmas Craft Morning on Thursday 27th November at 10.30am. Why not come along and enjoy a cuppa and a mince pie while helping your child to make a Christmas craft. Tickets cost £1.50 per adult (children are free) and are available now from the office.
There will be an early riser’s football club held at school on Thursday mornings. Any child from Years 2, 3 or 4 who is interested needs to return the reply slip which can be downloaded below.

We had a great time during our 'Looking After Ourselves' Week. There were different activities each day to enjoy!
All of next week is ‘Looking After Ourselves’ week at Stead Lane and the children will be taking part in various activities so will need their full P.E. kit every day, suitable for indoors and outdoors. We are always trying to encourage the children to eat healthily and next week will be awarding the healthiest packed lunch with a prize. We have various leaflets to share with parents/carers and these will be displayed every day at 3.00pm in the hall.
We are holding a Halloween Disco on Thursday 23rd October from 5.30 – 7.00pm for children in main school. Children may come unaccompanied but must be collected by an adult. Tickets cost £1.50 and are on sale now from the school office. Refreshments will be available to purchase during the event and fancy dress is optional but there will be prizes for the best dressed.

Our Years 3 & 4 children will hold theirs at 10.00am and Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 will hold theirs at 1.30pm. Family and friends please meet at the church. We hope to see you all there.
As detailed in last week’s newsletter, we are holding our Parent’s evenings on Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th October. Times are still available with your child’s teacher, so please sign up outside their classroom every day from 3.00pm.

We are holding one next week so please call at the office for your bag, if you have not already received it, which you can fill with unwanted items such as clothing, bedding, curtains, soft toys, shoes, belts and handbags (everyday bin bags can also be used if needed). All filled bags need to be brought to school on the morning of Friday 26th September, before 10.00am, and placed in the designated area next to the school car park. Unfortunately school does not have space to store any bags brought before this date. Thank you for your support.
Following the success of our residential last term, we are proposing a return visit to Dukeshouse Wood Centre, Hexham, next summer. By booking early, I’ve secured another excellent deal for our children in Years 3 & 4. Please call at the school office for a letter with information regarding our meeting, if you have not already received one.

We have just been informed that our school will be inspected by Ofsted on 23rd and 24th September. An important aspect of the inspection will be views of parents and children about our school. We have parent questionnaires which we would appreciate you completing. Spare copies are available from the school office.
Our school library will be opening again. The library sessions will be held on Monday afternoons for KS2 and Friday afternoons for KS1. If your child brings a book home please ensure it is returned to school by the due date. Thank you.

We had a party to say farewell to our friends who are moving up into Reception in September. Mrs Olsen and Mrs Athey would like to say a big thank you for all of your support and all of the lovely presents they received. Happy holidays!!

Our Year 4 family assembly is on Wednesday 23rd July at 9.10am. We hope to see as many family members there as possible for their final assembly at Stead Lane!

Children in main school will be holding their sports day on Thursday 17th July. If your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 sports will begin at 10.30am, if your child is in Year 3 or Year 4 they will begin at 1.30pm. We hope you will come along and support our children. Could all children please have their P.E. kits in school all week, so they have them if needed.
Our Nursery children will hold their sports day on Wednesday 16th July – 10.30am for morning children and 2.00pm for afternoon children. There will be refreshments, a tombola and raffle.
The performers will be running through their acts on Monday so will need their outfits and any props. The final performance is at 6.30pm on Tuesday 15th July. Tickets are available from the office.

Tickets cost £1.50 per child under 13 and accompanying adults are free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The ticket price covers the cost of the disco, and as at Christmas there will be an additional small charge for stalls and activities.
Our sports day for main school is on Thursday 17th July. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 sports are at 10.30am and Year 3 and Year 4 sports are at 1.30pm. We hope you can come along and support our children.
Nursery are holding their sports day on Wednesday 16th July. The morning sports will begin at 10.30am and the afternoon at 2.00pm. We hope to see you there.
Transfer day is on Tuesday 8th July. Your child will be spending time in their new class and Year 4 children will be attending their new middle schools, information of which has been sent out separately.
We are holding a dress rehearsal for our ‘Stars in their Eyes’ performers on Monday 7th July. Please make sure your child brings their outfits, plus any props they may need, into school on this day.
