On Monday 3rd November Year 1 are to visit Blyth Fire Station, on Tuesday 4th November Year 3 are to visit Woodhorn Colliery and on Wednesday 5th November Year 4 are to visit Arbeia Roman Fort. If you have not already returned your child’s reply slip for any of these trips, please do so as soon as possible. Thank you.
All of next week is ‘Looking After Ourselves’ week at Stead Lane and the children will be taking part in various activities so will need their full P.E. kit every day, suitable for indoors and outdoors. We are always trying to encourage the children to eat healthily and next week will be awarding the healthiest packed lunch with a prize. We have various leaflets to share with parents/carers and these will be displayed every day at 3.00pm in the hall.

Just a reminder - we are holding our Harvest Festivals on Friday 17th October at Bedlington Colliery Methodist Church at Bedlington Station. Our Years 3 & 4 children will hold theirs at 10.00am and Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 will hold theirs at 1.30pm. Family and friends please meet at the church. We hope to see you all there.
As detailed in last week’s newsletter, we are holding our Parent’s evenings on Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th October. Times are still available with your child’s teacher, so please sign up outside their classroom every day from 3.00pm.
Please make sure children have their named P.E.kit on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Thank you.
Mrs. Lockie would like all Year 2 children to bring in a photo from a magazine or newspaper, of a famous person they admire (pop star, footballer etc;). Thank you.
There will be a final opportunity to claim any lost property in the school hall on Monday 21st July at 3.00pm. Any unclaimed items will be disposed of after this time.
School will close on Wednesday 23rd July at 1.30pm for the summer break and there will be no afternoon Nursery session on this day. Please fill out a reply slip (available from the office) so we know you are aware of this. Thank you.
Year 2 are holding a family assembly at 9.10am on Friday 18th July 2008. We hope to see as many family members there as possible!
Children in main school will be holding their sports day on Thursday 17th July. If your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 sports will begin at 10.30am, if your child is in Year 3 or Year 4 they will begin at 1.30pm. We hope you will come along and support our children. Could all children please have their P.E. kits in school all week, so they have them if needed.
Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 will hold their sports at 10.30am on Thursday 17th July.
Starting on Monday 7th July our Year 2 children will be exiting school via the conservatory

Key Stage 1 held their Easter service at Bedlington Colliery Methodist church.
While Key Stage 2 held theirs in the school hall.
This week as part of their topic on Judism Year2 visited an Orthodox Synangogue in Gosforth. Children enjoyed handling, a range of religious artifacts and learning their significants for Jews.
Our children had an exiting time on the 'Pride of Wansbeck' bus tour. We toured around our local area and earned lots of interesting things about where we live. We visited the iron works in Bedlington, the recycling centre at North Seaton, Newbiggin and Bothal.
