WALK TO SCHOOL WEEK
Next week is 'Walk to School Week' and here at Stead Lane we are promoting a healthy lifestyle. The children will be encouraged to walk to school and Key Stages 1 & 2 will receive a 'Walk to School' diary. Children who walk to school all week will receive a certificate, so leave the car at home and get walking!
POLITE REQUEST
We have noticed that some children are coming to school tired, which is affecting their work. Many of them tell us that they are watching television or playing on their computer until late at night. Could we please ask parents to be aware of what your child is watching and what time they are going to sleep.
THE JOURNAL TOKENS
Thank you to everyone who collected the tokens for us from the Journal newspaper, if there are any still lying around at home please send them into school on Monday as they need to be sent off. Hopefully we have collected enough to win a share of the money on offer!
VOUCHER COLLECTION
Please remember we are still collecting Sainsburys, Tesco and Nestle vouchers. Please send any you have into school with your child.
BOOK FAIR SAVING CLUB
Thank you to those children who have already begun saving for our book fair in November, if you are interested please read on. We will be holding a book fair at the end of November and to help you and your child benefit from this we are starting a saving scheme where your child can bring money into school each week and receive a sticker to stick on their card, each sticker is worth 20p so the amount saved can be anything from 20p per week. There are just over 20 school weeks between now and the fair so even 20p per week would enable your child to make a purchase. Or why not start early for Christmas and save now to buy books as gifts! Don't forget we receive commission for our school funds so the more you save and spend the more it helps us buy new resources. If you and your child would like to take part in the scheme please call at the school office.
