SCHOOL CELEBRATES 'ECO WEEK'
Our children have enjoyed learning about the environment in school this week. Visits have included going to Plessey Woods and Rising Sun Country Park. Children have also enjoyed a range of activities within school from decorating cotton bags to making music using junk instruments. Congratulations to those children who were winners of our junk modelling competition and received prizes in assembly this morning. Everyone made a great effort dressing in green today and we raised a lot of money to sponsor a tiger in Bengal from our cake sale.
ABSENT CHILDREN
Could we please remind all parents/carers of the importance of ringing in or sending a message in with another adult, if your child is ill and cannot attend school. Failure to inform school will result in an unauthorised absence being recorded. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
STAFF LEAVING
We have two members of our staff leaving us today - firstly Mrs Witson, our kitchen assistant, who is retiring after over 5 years with us. We would all like to wish her a very long, happy and restful retirement and also Ms Douglas, one of our cleaners, who is leaving us to move to another job, good luck to her!
HALF TERM HOLIDAY
School closes today for the half term break and re-opens on Monday 2nd November at 9.00am (8.00am for Breakfast Club).
FLORA COOKING WITH SCHOOLS
Thank you to everyone who helped us by collecting the tokens from packs of flora. We managed to collect 229 tokens with which we have ordered lots of equipment for our cooking club. Please look out for this promotion starting again next year!
