HOUSE COMPETITION WINNERS

YEAR 2 DANCE FESTIVAL
Our Year 2 children have been invited to attend a Dance Festival at Blyth Community College during the morning of Friday 27th March 2009. To take part in the festival they need white t-shirts, black shorts and a bottle of water - all with names on please. We are holding a dress rehearsal on Monday so would appreciate it if you could send the shorts and t-shirt into school on this day. Thank you.

ST OSWALD'S EASTER BEANIES
We have been given the opportunity to buy some 'Easter beanies' to raise money for St Oswald's Hospice. Please call at the school office for more information.
COMIC RELIEF
Thank you to everyone who donated to Red Nose Day. We all had lots of fun and raised £156.60 for the cause. Well done everyone!
EASTER EGG COMPETITION
We are once again holding our decorated egg competitions. There are two categories for each class:
• Child's own work
• Family contribution
Could all eggs please be brought to school on Monday 30th March. Thank you.
SPRING FAIR
We are holding our Spring Fair on Wednesday 1st April 2009 from 1.00 - 3.00pm, this is a family event and we ask that you accompany your child. We have various events for all of the family. Tickets cost £1.50 per child (adults free) and this includes juice, crisps and a turn on a number of our activities, extra attractions will also be available at a small charge. Tickets can be reserved at the school office and they will be distributed to your child just before the fair begins. Please note: only children who purchase a ticket and have an accompanying adult will be allowed to enjoy the fair - children without an adult will stay in class and not take any part. We hope to see you all there!
SPRING FAIR APPEAL
During our Spring Fair we will be having a toy and book stall, bric-a-brac stall, tombola, raffles for adults and children and a cake stall. If you could donate to any of these stalls it would be greatly appreciated. So please empty your cupboards!
EASTER SERVICES
On Thursday 2nd April 2009 we are holding our Easter services:
• Our Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 service is to be held at Bedlington Colliery Methodist Church at 10am where parents are welcome to attend.
• Our Year 3 and Year 4 service is at 2pm in the school hall where parents are also welcome to attend. (Any parent wanting to take their children home after the afternoon service is welcome to do so).
VOUCHERS
We are collecting lots of different vouchers this year - Tesco are giving 1 voucher for every £10 spent in store and we can redeem those vouchers for computer equipment. Sainsburys are also giving vouchers when you buy in store and we are collecting those for P E equipment. We are still collecting Books for Schools tokens from the Times and Sunday Times newspapers and Books for Schools tokens from Nestle products, which are both for books for our school library. Flora have just started their 'Cooking with schools' scheme again so please enter your token code online or bring them in to school and we will do it for you. Thank you to everyone who has already saved these vouchers/tokens for us and please everyone keep saving as in the past we have managed to order some great equipment with them.
