'SNOW' DISCO!
We regret that the disco had to be cancelled last night due to bad weather. To avoid disappointment we telephoned every family in school to inform them of our decision, although regretfully we were unable to contact every parent. May I remind you that it is essential we have your current phone number on our school records so we can contact you in case of a real emergency. So if your main contact number is a mobile and you change your phone, please let us know immediately! We intend to rearrange the disco for after half term, so please keep hold of your ticket. Date to be announced.
RECEPTION - PARENTS MEETING
You are invited to attend a meeting on Tuesday 24th February from 9.00 - 9.30am. This meeting will enable parents to discuss the theme for the term and the tasks that the children will be given. If enough parents are interested this could be a regular session where parents will be able to talk about the work we do in class. We will discuss the methods used to teach the children so that there will be a common approach between home and school. These meetings will be very informal.
STEPPING STONES
Our Stepping Stones group will continue on Tuesday 24th February 2009 at 2.15pm. Please bring your child's pack with you.
YEAR 2 FAMILY ACTIVITY MORNING
Our Year 2 children would like to invite their families to their activity morning on Thursday 26th February, starting at 10.00am. We all hope to see you there.
HOMEWORK CLUB
There will be no Homework Club on Tuesday 24th February as Mr Jones will not be in school that day. If your child usually attends please collect them at 3.00pm. The club will resume the following week. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
PE KIT IN SCHOOL
It is very disappointing the number of children in school who are not receiving their statutory entitlement of PE because they do not have kit or because they have had their ears pierced during term time. Please may I ask all parents to ensure their child has PE shorts, t-shirt and sand shoes in school at all times. Ideally kit should be left in a named bag (bag, t-shirt & shorts available from the office for £8.50 or £3.00 for a bag only) on your child's peg and only returned home at the end of each half term to wash.
Likewise if your child must have their ears pierced, may I suggest you do this at the start of the summer holidays, allowing 6 weeks to heal so earrings can be taken out for PE lessons. It is now against health and safety regulations to use tape to cover earrings, as previously allowed.
When concerns for the health of our children are so widely publicised I'm sure we all agree that we all want to see our children fit and active!
HEAD LICE
There has been a case of head lice reported in Year 3. Please take the time to check your child's hair over the half term break and treat if necessary so that together we can try to eradicate this problem. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
FOOD LOCAL FOOD
We need to place the order for the grocery bags again on Tuesday 24th February, so if you would like a grocery bag ready for the weekend, could you please inform Mrs Burn at the school office, no later than Tuesday morning.
