OFSTED REPORT
As you are aware, we were inspected by Ofsted last week. We are very proud of our report, which you can find a copy of in the main school entrance. I would also like to thank all parents for their positive responses to the questionnaire and continued support for school.
NURSERY & RECEPTION APPEAL
Could we please remind all parents that from September 08 the children in Nursery and Reception will be following a new curriculum (EYFS). This will mean that the children will be spending more time outdoors (in various weather conditions). We do have some supplies of waterproof clothing but it would be much appreciated if all children could be provided with warm, waterproof outdoor clothing and a supply of spare clothes (particularly socks and trousers). Thank you for your co-operation.
YEAR 3 VISIT TO BEAMISH
Our Year 3 children are to visit Beamish on Thursday 9th October 2008. If you have not already done so could you please return your child’s reply slip and payment to school this Monday. Spare copies are available from the office.
PARENT’S EVENING
We are holding our Parent’s Evenings on Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th October from 3.30 – 6.30pm. From Monday 6th October lists will be available outside the classrooms at 3.00pm each day for parents to sign up for appointments.
HARVEST FESTIVAL
We are once again holding our Harvest Festival at Bedlington Colliery Methodist Church. Our key stage 2 children (years 3 & 4) will hold their service at 10.00am and our key stage 1 children (Reception, years 1 & 2) will hold theirs at 1.30pm.We hope to see you all there.
KINGSWOOD
We are once again offering our Year 3 and 4 children the chance to take part in our residential weekend at Kingswood Centre, Dukeswood from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st June 2009. The cost of the visit will be £85.00 and a deposit of £20.00 is due by Monday 13th October 2008. If you are interested please call at the school office for more information.
SAMARITAN’S PURSE
This year we will be taking part in the Samaritan’s Purse appeal and we are asking for your support. Please ask for a leaflet at the school office.If you can help please send completed boxes into school on or before Friday 21st November 2008.
KS1 & KS2 VISIT TO NORTHERN STAGE
On Wednesday 10th December we are hoping to take Years 1, 2, 3 & 4 to a Christmas performance of Hansel & Gretel at the Northern Stage Theatre in Newcastle. Please call at the school office for more information.
