WELCOME BACK TO A NEW YEAR!
We hope that you have had an enjoyable (if not wet) summer holiday and your children are ready for the new challenges and exciting opportunities which lie ahead for them in the coming year. A list of diary dates for this term will be published next week.
As you will have seen, school has been full of activity over the summer holidays with the development of our outdoor area. This is just the start, keep watching for further developments over the next few weeks. For your child’s health and safety we would be grateful if they stay away from building works at the beginning and end of the school day.

SCHOOL UNIFORM
Our staff would be very grateful if you could name all of your child’s uniform so if an item is misplaced it can easily be returned to its owner. Thank you.

HOME READING BOOKS
If you have not yet received a form please call at the schol office for more information.

EARLY RISER’S JUDO CLUB
We are offering some of our children the opportunity to take part in Judo lessons starting from Thursday 25th September. Please complete a form available from the office if your child is interested.

SCHOOL FOOD TRUST
From Monday 15th September, for two weeks, children will be able to download a voucher from www.myhighschoolmusical3.com/sft. If your child takes their voucher, one per day, to the school canteen at lunchtime and purchase a meal they can qualify for a stamp. They then have to post their vouchers to the address on the website to be in with a chance of winning one of various prizes. Children on free school meals can also take part, please refer to the instructions under ‘no purchase necessary’ on the website. Good luck!

SCHOOL COUNCIL
Next week we will be choosing our School Councillors. Two children are chosen from each class (Years 1 – 4). If your child would like the opportunity to be one of our councillors they will have to tell their class teacher and then think of some reasons as to why they’d be good at the job. They will be asked to tell the rest of their class why they’d like to be on our School Council and then everyone in the class will have a chance to vote. The names of the two children chosen by each class will be announced in assembly next Friday.

BAG2SCHOOL COLLECTION
Last year we held a bag2school collection to raise money for school funds. We will distribute bags on Friday 19th September which you can fill with unwanted items such as clothing, bedding, curtains, soft toys, shoes, belts and handbags (everyday bin bags can also be used if needed). All filled bags need to be brought to school on the morning of Friday 26th September, before 10.00am, and placed in the designated area next to the school car park. Unfortunately school does not have space to store any bags brought before this date.

RECEPTION APPEAL
Our Reception class require large boxes (from washers, fridges, TVs etc), so if anyone has any we would be very grateful for them! We also require dolls clothes and equipment for our home corner (child size ironing boards, high chairs, cots etc). Thank you.

YEAR 2
Mrs. Lockie would like all Year 2 children to bring in a photo from a magazine or newspaper, of a famous person they admire (pop star, footballer etc;). Thank you.
