END OF TERM
And so, we’ve almost made it to the end of term, or in fact the end of the year! I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all parents and friends of Stead Lane for their continued support since September. It has been a pleasure getting to know you all and a privilege working with your children.
Just a reminder that we break up at 1.30pm on Wednesday 23rd July. Children may bring a toy for the last day – but remember they are responsible for their own property!
Have a great summer holiday, let’s hope the weather improves, and we will see you all next term on Tuesday 9th September.

YEAR 4 FAMILY ASSEMBLY
Our Year 4 family assembly is on Wednesday 23rd July at 9.10am. We hope to see as many family members there as possible for their final assembly at Stead Lane!
YEAR 4 LEAVERS
Following our Year 4 children’s leavers assembly on Wednesday 23rd July, several children have asked if they may have their polo shirt signed by friends and staff. We think this will be a good memento of their time at Stead Lane. If you do not wish your child to have their top signed please inform Mrs O’Connor.
EARLY CLOSURE
School will close on Wednesday 23rd July at 1.30pm for the summer break and there will be no afternoon Nursery session on this day. Please fill out a reply slip (available from the office) so we know you are aware of this. Thank you.
HELLO, GOODBYE!
On Monday we officially welcome back Mrs. Mallin, who will be busy catching up on jobs around school then Mrs Rowley is leaving us on Wednesday to begin her maternity leave. We will all miss her and wish her the best of luck!
SUMMER FAIR
Thank you to everyone who came along and supported our summer fair. The fair was a huge success and we raised £619.52 towards school funds. The prize winners were as follows:

• Guess the cake weight – Abbie Mole
• Sweets in the tub – Eloise George.
NURSERY SPORTS DAY
Thank you to all parents and friends who came along to our sports day events. We managed to raise over £200 for Nursery fund to help us buy new resources.
LOST PROPERTY
There will be a final opportunity to claim any lost property in the school hall on Monday 21st July at 3.00pm. Any unclaimed items will be disposed of after this time.
YEAR 4 SWIM ACADEMIES
Ashington Leisure Centre is offering swimming lessons to Year 4 children during the summer holidays. Please contact us for more information.
