BRAKE – GUINESS BOOK RECORD ATTEMPT
Well done to our children in Years 3 & 4 who took part this week in the largest national walking bus record breaking attempt. You may have seen us on the news as we walked around our local area to promote walking to school safely. For the full story, see last night’s Chronicle and Journal.
STARS IN THEIR EYES
Just a reminder that ‘Stars in their eyes’ auditions are to be held on Monday 16th June. If your child would like to take part please complete a reply slip and return to school (spare copies available from the office).If your child has already done this, please remind them to bring in their cd or any other items needed for their auditions on Monday.
YEAR 4 VISIT TO THE SAGE, GATESHEAD
As part of the process of transition to West Sleekburn Middle School our children have been taking part in a project with dancers and musicians from the Sage, Gateshead. Our children are to come together with children from other first schools and West Sleekburn Middle School at the Sage, to perform on Wednesday 25th June 2008. Parents are welcome to attend. If you have not received a letter please contact the school office.
CLASS ASSEMBLY REMINDER
Year 1 parents are invited to attend their class assembly on Thursday 19th June 2008 at 9.00am.
PARENTING INITIATIVES

BOOK FAIR
A book fair will be held in school at 3.00pm from Monday 23rd June to Thursday 26th June. Please come along and browse the books on sale.
NURSERY SPORTS DAY
Nursery Sports Day will be held on Wednesday 16th July.
TESCO VOUCHERS
We are still collecting Tesco ‘Computers for Schools’ vouchers. Please bring any in to school as time is running out and we still need lots more! Thank you.
FLORA COOKING WITH SCHOOLS TOKENS
Our school is now registered to collect tokens from flora packs. Please collect these tokens for us. If you have access to the internet at home you can follow the instructions on the token to add it to our collection. Alternatively if you do not have access to the internet or just don’t have the time, please just send the token in to school and we will do the rest. Thank you again for your support.
