Newsletter 07/03/08

HEAD LICE
As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, we have had several cases of head lice in school. Unfortunately this week there have been more cases brought to our attention throughout the whole school. Once again can we please stress the importance of checking your child’s hair regularly and immediate treatment if needed. Thank you.

TRINITY YOUTH WALKING BUS
There are to be slight changes to arrangements for children who attend Trinity Youth after school club. Two of our teaching assistants, Mrs. Cotton & Mrs. Williamson, will now be working alternative weeks walking the children to Whitley Memorial First School.

YEAR 2 VISIT TO SYNAGOGUE
The children in Year 2 are to visit an Orthodox Synagogue in Gosforth on Wednesday 19th March. Please see letter attached and return it to school as soon as possible.

‘PRIDE OF WANSBECK’ BUS TOUR
The Wansbeck Enterprise Education Network (WEEN) is working within schools in Wansbeck to create an enterprise culture. As an introduction to this project we have organised a Pride of Wansbeck Past, Present and Future project which our school is taking part in. On Friday 14th March 2008 our children will have a bus tour of the local area. Please make sure on this day that children have warm coats on.

EASTER EGG COMPETITION
We are once again holding our decorated egg competitions. There are two categories for each class:
• Child’s own work
• Family contribution
Could all eggs please be brought to school on Monday 17th & Tuesday 18th March and the competition will be judged on Wednesday 19th March. So get cracking!!

EASTER SERVICES
On Thursday 20th March 2008 we are holding our Easter services:
• our key stage 1 service is to be held at Bedlington Colliery Methodist Church at 10am where parents are welcome to attend.
• our key stage 2 service is at 2pm in the school hall where parents are also welcome to attend. (Any parent wanting to take their children home after the afternoon service is welcome to do so).

SCHOOL LIBRARY
Our school library session is now to be held on a Monday afternoon so please can you make sure your child brings their book in on that day.

NESTLÉ BOX TOPS FOR SCHOOLS
This is the last month for the collection so please bring all box tops into school before Friday 28th March. Thank you to everyone who has supported the collection.
